Job summary

A leading construction firm in the UK is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer. In this role, you will be responsible for the production of Mechanical Design, providing technical support to procurement activities, and managing design production by consultants and subcontractors. This position offers stability, opportunities for growth, and work on exciting projects. The ideal candidate has a degree or HNC in a relevant subject, knowledge of project management, and must meet essential criteria in process industry experience.

Qualifications

  • Have the necessary qualifications in a recognised relevant Subject to HNC / Degree Level.
  • Gain working knowledge of aspects and law, including The Health and Safety at Work etc Act and CDM.
  • Gain a basic knowledge of sub-contract processes – contract and commercial.
  • Basic appreciation and use knowledge of project management – programming, cash flow analysis, resource planning etc.
  • Willingness to work towards membership of relevant professional institution (IMechE).
  • Water Industry experience (Desired).
  • Process Industry experience (essential).

Mechanical Design Engineer - Environment

What you will be doing:

As Mechanical Design Engineer you will be responsible for all activities associated with the production of Mechanical Design in compliance with the Business Management Systems (BMS) and CDM regulations, assisting with the wider general Process, Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control and Automation (PMEICA) and Civils design production activities, providing technical support to the supply chain procurement activities and supporting site activities as required.

You will also assist with the management of Consultants and Sub-contractors design production.

About You:
