Ferrari is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join its prestigious Chassis Design Office. This is a unique opportunity to work with one of the most iconic names in motorsport, designing and managing the development of critical components related to the car's suspension and braking systems. You will be responsible for driving projects from concept through to the final homologation phases, ensuring top-tier performance and reliability.

Role Overview:
As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be entrusted with full ownership of suspension and braking system components, guiding them through all stages of design, testing, and homologation. You will work closely with various teams, collaborate across departments, and play an essential role in ensuring the design meets all performance, reliability, and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Take full end-to-end project ownership of suspension and braking system components, from concept design through testing and homologation.

  • Ensure reliability of components throughout the design and testing phases, addressing any challenges as they arise.

  • When required, lead a small team of engineers, with a strong focus on mentoring junior designers and ensuring high-quality results.

  • Collaborate closely with other departments to ensure seamless integration of components into the overall chassis design.

  • Produce high-quality, detailed CAD designs (preferably using Catia V5).

  • Communicate effectively with internal teams, providing clear updates, solutions, and progress reports.

  • Be an enthusiastic, committed, and highly motivated team player, embodying the core values and principles of Ferrari's culture.


Candidate Profile:


  • Honours degree in Mechanical Engineering, Motorsport Engineering, or a relevant field.

  • Proven experience in mechanical design within motorsport (preferably Formula 1).

  • Excellent CAD skills (preferably Catia V5).

  • A strong understanding of suspension and braking systems in motorsport.

  • Excellent communication skills with a proven ability to collaborate effectively across departments.

  • Mentoring experience with junior engineers or designers is a plus.

  • Knowledge of composite materials, additive manufacturing technology, and experience with Catia-FE analysis or ANSYS workbench would be a distinct advantage.

  • Ability to manage projects, prioritise tasks, and work efficiently under pressure.
