Based at site in North Yorkshire (near Helmsley), working 37 hours per week (Mon–Thurs 8:30am–4:30pm, Fri 8:30am–4:00pm) with flexi–time available, you'll benefit from 25 days' holiday plus bank holidays, private healthcare, a 5% pension, life insurance at twice your salary, and overtime at enhanced rates.

The successful Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Producing mechanical designs, specifications, and documentation for cutting–edge subsea systems using SolidWorks and PDM.

  • Conducting structural analysis and FEA using SolidWorks Simulation or Ansys, along with relevant hand calculations.

  • Assisting with the preparation of manuals, proposals, and technical input for tenders.

  • Providing engineering support to production, integration, logistics, and customers, both on–site and off–site when required.

  • Ensuring designs meet company, client, and international standards within agreed budgets and timescales.

  • Liaising with multi–discipline teams and contributing to product development from concept through to delivery.

The ideal Mechanical Design Engineer will have:

  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification/experience.

  • Proficiency in 3D CAD (SolidWorks) and familiarity with PDM systems.

  • Experience in structural analysis, tolerancing, limits and fits, and mechanical assembly techniques.

  • Knowledge of inspection, testing, and certification requirements.

  • Strong problem–solving skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

  • Desirable: Experience with kinematics, mechanisms, manufacturing processes, subsea materials, corrosion prevention, hydraulics, or ergonomics.
