The successful Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for:
- Producing mechanical designs, specifications, and documentation for cutting–edge subsea systems using SolidWorks and PDM.
- Conducting structural analysis and FEA using SolidWorks Simulation or Ansys, along with relevant hand calculations.
- Assisting with the preparation of manuals, proposals, and technical input for tenders.
- Providing engineering support to production, integration, logistics, and customers, both on–site and off–site when required.
- Ensuring designs meet company, client, and international standards within agreed budgets and timescales.
- Liaising with multi–discipline teams and contributing to product development from concept through to delivery.
The ideal Mechanical Design Engineer will have:
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification/experience.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD (SolidWorks) and familiarity with PDM systems.
- Experience in structural analysis, tolerancing, limits and fits, and mechanical assembly techniques.
- Knowledge of inspection, testing, and certification requirements.
- Strong problem–solving skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Desirable: Experience with kinematics, mechanisms, manufacturing processes, subsea materials, corrosion prevention, hydraulics, or ergonomics.
