This role is ideal for engineers who are confident designing complex enclosures and assemblies and who thrive in a collaborative, multi–disciplinary environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce and maintain detailed 3D CAD models and manufacturing drawings.
  • Lead and support design activities across product lifecycles – from concept to delivery.
  • Ensure designs meet demanding performance, environmental, and compliance requirements.
  • Contribute to structured design reviews and gated development phases.
  • Liaise with electrical, systems, and manufacturing teams for integrated design solutions.
  • Offer engineering insight into future product development and innovation initiatives.

Requirements
Essential:

  • Degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Strong CAD skills (preferably Autodesk Inventor or equivalent).
  • Solid grasp of enclosure manufacturing techniques (fabrication, castings, welds, coatings).
  • Knowledge of material properties, mechanical stress, and durability standards.
  • Experience working to shock, thermal, and EMC requirements.
  • Exposure to formal design processes and reviews.
  • Strong communication skills and a team–based, problem–solving attitude.

Desirable:

  • Background in electromechanical systems, rotating machinery, or systems integration.
  • Experience with engineering projects in regulated or defence sectors.

Working Environment

  • Hybrid and flexible working hours available.
  • Opportunities for part–time or compressed hours considered.
  • Inclusive, forward–thinking engineering culture that supports autonomy and innovation.

Important Notes

  • Applicants must be eligible for UK security clearance.
  • Relocation support available subject to role and HMRC guidance.
