Mechanical Design Engineer – The Role:

• Preparation of fabrication, layout and schematic drawings, assembly and sub–assembly drawings with bill of materials.
• Complete project–based, mechanical design and detailing work of machined components, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic drive systems.
• Execute mechanical design calculations and analysis.
• 2D drawing using AutoCAD, 3D modelling work using SolidWorks.
• Meeting engineering schedules for design and detailing work.
• Attend and participate in internal design review meetings and customer meetings.
• Answer queries from the manufacturing department as well as customers and suppliers relating to the prepared engineering drawings.
• Help prepare operation and maintenance manuals.

Mechanical Design Engineer – The Person:

• Proven working experience as a Machinery Design Engineer.
• Proficient in mechanical parameters and appropriate engineering formulas to perform mechanical design calculations, in order to determine critical factors and ensure compliance with specifications and safety standards.
• Knowledge of design software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Mathcad.
• Ability to work with multiple discipline projects.
• Good time management and organisation skills.

Located in East Glasgow, this role would be commutable from Cumbernauld, Airdrie, Shotts, Bellshill, Motherwell, East Kilbride and surrounding areas.
