Job summary

Une entreprise de fabrication recherche un ingénieur en conception mécanique pour travailler à Swindon. La personne idéale aura une formation en ingénierie mécanique, de l'expérience avec les matériaux métalliques, et maîtrisera les logiciels de CAO 3D tels qu'Inventor ou SolidWorks. Ce rôle permettra de collaborer étroitement avec une petite équipe multi-disciplinaire tout en participant à un large éventail de projets innovants.

Qualifications

  • Diplôme en ingénierie mécanique ou similaire requis.
  • Expérience antérieure en environnement manufacturier souhaitée.
  • Capacité à travailler de manière autonome et en équipe.

Responsibilities

  • Produire des conceptions 3D à l'aide d'Autodesk Inventor.
  • Collaborer avec l'équipe d'ingénierie et les fournisseurs de fabrication.
  • Créer de la documentation pour le design et les rapports de projet.

ROLE – Mechanical Design Engineer

LOCATION: Swindon

TERM: Permanent

SALARY: £30,000 - £45,000 per annum, dependent on experience

My client is a manufacturer of specialist products for various sectors, seeking to hire a Mechanical Design Engineer on a permanent basis in the Swindon area.

Hands-On or Project experience is desirable but not essential for this role.

The Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally possess the following attributes:

  • Degree / HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with Sheet Metal/Metalwork is necessary
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software such as Creo, Inventor, SolidWorks, etc.
  • Strong theoretical mechanical engineering knowledge of core principles and tight tolerances
  • Ability to work independently and within a small multi-disciplinary team
  • Mechanical calculation skills
  • Experience working with process machinery or steel / metal materials is desirable
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

The role involves:

  • Collaborating within the engineering team with other Design Engineers
  • Producing 3D designs using Autodesk Inventor and 2D designs with AutoCAD
  • Liaising with manufacturing providers
  • Participating in final assembly of products
  • Creating documentation for design, project reports, and plans
  • Updating 3D models and drawings
  • Inputting parts into the MRP system and creating BOMs
  • Checking drawings for sign-off
  • Working on varied projects within a small multi-disciplinary team
