Job summary

Ansible Motion, a leading automotive technology company in Snetterton, seeks a Junior Mechanical Design Engineer to join its R&D team. You will develop mechanical designs in 3D/2D using SolidWorks and collaborate across disciplines to advance innovative engineering solutions.

With 1–2 years of industry experience, you will grow skills, take ownership of tasks, and engage with purchasing on part costings, while enjoying a friendly, collaborative team culture and opportunities for development.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Develop design concepts using 2D drawings, 3D models and prototypes.

• Contribute to R&D design and development activities.

Mechanical Design Engineer Ansible Motion Automotive Snetterton

Our client, Ansible Motion, is an established automotive technology company based in Snetterton, with a global client base. They are looking to recruit a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their innovative R&D team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Junior Mechanical Design Engineer who has gained some initial industry experience and is ready to take the next step in their career towards a more mid-level position. You'll have the opportunity to build on your existing technical skills, take on greater responsibility and contribute to the development of innovative engineering solutions.

You will be responsible for producing mechanical designs for a range of products and applications in 3D and 2D using SolidWorks, working alongside an experienced team to develop your skills and technical knowledge.

Responsibilities:

• Develop design concepts using 2D drawings, 3D models and prototypes.
• Produce engineering drawings, specifications, BOM structures, part lists and costings.
• Manage multiple design tasks at once, developing your ability to take ownership of projects.
• Work with purchasing on costings for parts.
• Contribute to design and development activities within the R&D team, building experience and taking on increasing responsibility.

Key requirements:

Essential:

• Relevant engineering qualification or demonstrable industry experience (via university, college, apprenticeship, or progressive roles in the sector).
• 1-2 years+ experience in industry.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Genuine interest in the Automotive or Motorsport industries.
• A willingness to learn, develop technically and progress towards a more mid-level engineering role.

Desirable:

• Experience using SolidWorks.
