Mechanical Design Engineer

Are you a motivated Mechanical Design Engineer looking to join an ambitious and forward–thinking company? Then this is a fantastic opportunity for you to contribute to a Sheffield based engineering business.

What You ll Be Doing:

As a key member of the design team, you ll be responsible for producing 3D models, technical drawings, and specifications. Your day–to–day work will involve:

  • Designing mechanical systems and components
  • Creating general assemblies and bills of materials
  • Managing supplier drawings and integrating them into internal models
  • Performing calculations and ensuring mechanical compliance with relevant regulations
  • Producing work instructions and fitment guides to support assembly and testing

What We re Looking For:

Essential:

  • A degree in Mechanical or Design Engineering, HNC, HND or equivalent hands–on experience
  • Proficiency with 3D CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks, Siemens NX)
  • A practical understanding of mechanical design principles
  • Organised approach to managing design files and project documentation

Desirable:

  • Experience designing within confined or modular systems
  • Knowledge of CFD/FEA
  • Exposure to early–stage product development or prototype environments
