Location: Somerset

Due to ongoing success and company expansion, my client is looking to add to their skilled design team with the addition of a Mechanical Design Engineer.

We are seeking an ambitious Mechanical Design Engineer. If you are a driven and highly motivated individual wishing to craft a successful and rewarding future in a truly unique environment, this could be the role for you. You will work on a variety of projects, manufactured and supplied worldwide.

The Role:

• Design projects for customers, primarily automotive components and parts.
• Responsible for all mechanical aspects of a project and provide technical guidance to customers.
• Attend specification meetings with global customers.
• Be aware of cost targets in design, purchasing, and assembly.
• Carry out risk assessments.
• Attend project meetings and update Project Managers on engineering progress.

The Person:

• Experience using SolidWorks.
• Ability to design for manufacture and assembly.
• Ability to read and produce 2D production drawings, applying GD&T where necessary.
• Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Ideally possess an Engineering Degree, minimum HNC.
