A leading engineering design firm is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team in Northwest London. The role involves concept design, CAD usage, and collaboration with manufacturing. Qualifications

• At least 2 years' experience in a similar Design / Mechanical Engineering position.
• Experience in R&D, testing, prototype development, DFM.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of materials such as sheet metal and injection moulded plastics.

Responsibilities

• Using CAD for concept design and producing technical drawings.
• Liaising with manufacturing providers.
• Being involved in final assembly of products.
• Creating required design documentation and project reports.
• Updating 3D models and drawings.
• Inputting parts into the MRP system creating BOMs.
• Checking drawings for sign off.

ROLE: Mechanical Design Engineer

TERM: Permanent

LOCATION : Northwest London

SALARY: GBP 27,000 : GBP 35,000, dependent on experience

My client designs and manufactures bespoke products for the Medical sector. They are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team in Northwest London on a permanent basis.

The Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:

: Degree / HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar

: At least 2 years' experience in a similar Design / Mechanical Engineering position

: Strong experience with R and D, testing, prototype development, DFM etc.

: Previous experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment

: Be proficient using 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo etc.

: Knowledge of a variety of materials : sheet metal, injection moulded plastics etc.

: Good theoretical mechanical engineering knowledge of core principles and tight tolerances

: Excellent communication skills both verbal and written

: Proficient using MS Office

: Excellent organisational skills and time management skills

: Have the ability to work well alone as well as part of a small multi:disciplinary team

The Mechanical Design Engineer Role Will Involve
