Job summary

Gold Group Ltd is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer Contractor to support our defence engineering team. You will design complex enclosures and assemblies, using SolidWorks, and collaborate with electrical, systems and ME teams to deliver high-performance solutions.

The role covers concept through delivery in a fast-paced environment, with emphasis on product lifecycle, shock and thermal constraints, manufacturing methods for enclosures, and rigorous design reviews.

Qualifications

• Degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering.
• Broad technical understanding including systems, electrical, electro-mechanical or rotating machinery.
• Strong experience with manufacturing methods for electrical enclosures (fabrications, castings, welding, machining, corrosion protection).
• Proficient in SolidWorks.
• Good knowledge of materials and design lifecycle processes (gated phases, design reviews).
• Experience designing to stringent requirements, including shock, EMC and thermal constraints.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
