Job summary

Orion Electrotech is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer in Portsmouth, UK. You will act as the design authority for all products developed and manufactured for customers, and provide technical assurance to the sales process.

You will translate customer requirements into specifications feasible with current processes and technologies. The role requires a degree or equivalent, proficiency in 3D modelling (preferably Fusion 360), and experience with NPI/NPD.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified or HNC/HND with relevant experience.
• Proficient with 3D modelling ideally using Autodesk Fusion 360 but open to experience using any CAD package.
• Experienced in tolerances and stress within mechanical design.
• Experienced in New Product Introduction (NPI) and New Product Development (NPD).

As the Mechanical Design Engineer, you are responsible for being the design authority for all products that are developed and manufactured for customers. Additionally, the successful candidate will provide technical assurance to the sales process and to ensure that customer requirements are developed into specifications that are within the capabilities of the processes and technologies at disposal.

What we would like from the Mechanical Design Engineer:
