The Role

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you\'ll take ownership of the design and development of advanced lighting systems - from concept through to production. You\'ll work across a multidisciplinary team and collaborate with major aircraft manufacturers to deliver high-quality, safety-critical solutions. Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the mechanical design of components, assemblies, and systems throughout the full product lifecycle.
  • Produce CAD models, detailed technical drawings, and documentation to support production and certification.
  • Perform engineering analysis (stress, thermal, FEA, tolerance).
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams and external partners, including aircraft OEMs.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant aerospace standards (FAA, EASA, AS9100).
  • Support prototyping, testing, and troubleshooting of designs.
  • Apply DFM principles to create efficient and production-ready solutions.
What We\'re Looking For
  • Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering (BEng/MEng or equivalent).
  • 7+ years of mechanical design experience, ideally within aerospace or a regulated industry.
  • Proficiency in CAD tools such as SolidWorks (or similar).
  • Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing methods, and design for manufacturing.
  • A proactive, hands-on problem solver with great attention to detail.
  • Collaborative team player with excellent communication skills.
