Murray Recruitment are recruiting a Mechanical Design Engineer for our client based in Eurocentral, Lanarkshire.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a world-leading engineering company, contributing to the design, development, and manufacture of advanced equipment. The successful candidate will play a key role in designing mechanical systems, producing technical drawings, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Prepare fabrication, layout, schematic, assembly, and sub-assembly drawings with bill of materials.
2. Undertake project-based mechanical design and detailing of machined components, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic drive systems.
3. Perform mechanical design calculations and analysis.
4. Create 2D drawings using AutoCAD and 3D models using SolidWorks.
5. Ensure engineering schedules for design and detailing work are met.
6. Participate in internal design review meetings and customer meetings.
7. Respond to queries from manufacturing, customers, and suppliers regarding engineering drawings.
8. Assist in preparing operation and maintenance manuals.
9. Travel within the UK and internationally as required.

Skills & Experience:

1. Proven experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer within an engineering environment.
2. Strong understanding of mechanical parameters and engineering formulas for design calculations.
3. Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Mathcad.
4. Knowledge of relevant regulations, industry best practices, and performance standards.
5. Ability to work across multiple disciplines within project teams.
6. Proficient in MS Office with strong time management and organisational skills.
7. Willingness to travel to customer and supplier sites in the UK and worldwide.
8. A Degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is desirable.
