JOB - Mechanical Design Engineer
LOCATION - Mansfield
TERM - Permanent
SALARY - £35,000 to £45,000 per annum (plus benefits)

Premier Engineering is working with an engineering company based in Mansfield that is looking to hire a Mechanical Design Engineer to support their expanding design team. SolidWorks experience is essential for this role.

The Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:

- A degree or relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering (BEng, MEng, HND, HNC, etc.)

- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a mechanical design role

- Strong proficiency in SolidWorks for 3D modelling and technical drawings

- Good understanding of manufacturing processes such as machining, fabrication, and assembly

- Experience producing BOMs, technical documentation, and engineering calculations

- Excellent attention to detail with strong problem-solving skills

- Good communication skills and ability to work within a team

The Mechanical Design Engineer role will involve:

- Designing mechanical components and assemblies using SolidWorks

- Creating detailed engineering drawings and models for manufacturing

- Liaising with the production team to ensure designs are feasible and cost-effective

- Supporting development of new products and improvement of existing designs

- Participating in design reviews and technical meetings

- Ensuring all designs meet industry standards and customer requirements
