Mechanical Design Engineer – Exciting Opportunity with a Growing Business

Russell Taylor Group are seeking a Design Engineer to customise and adapt product designs to meet customer specifications.

This role includes the management of engineering change processes, maintenance of design documentation, and adherence to applicable standards and regulations. The position requires close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the delivery of high–quality, compliant, and manufacturable solutions, while also promoting continuous improvement across design and production workflows.

The Role:

  • Modify existing designs based on customer requirements
  • Create and update 2D/3D CAD models and technical drawings
  • Lead and implement ECNs/ECCs with accurate documentation
  • Maintain compliance with CE, UKCA, ATEX, ISO 9001, and other directives
  • Participate in design reviews, failure analysis, and process improvements
  • Liaise with sales, production, quality, and procurement teams
  • Occasional UK and international travel for technical support

The candidate:
  • 2–3 years in a design engineering role
  • Proficient in CAD software
  • Strong technical drawing interpretation
  • Effective communicator with internal and external stakeholders
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Project management certification would be advantageous
