Qualifications

  • Competent in mechanical design and development of special purpose machinery.
  • Knowledge of food preparation or pharmaceutical machinery preferred.
  • Working knowledge of EN standards and CE marking.

Responsibilities

  • Produce detailed design drawings under own initiative.
  • Ensure design solutions are cost-effective and managed according to procedures.
  • Regularly work overtime beyond 37 hours per week.

Mechanical Design Engineer – East Lancashire – Special Purpose Machinery – £38-42k + overtime (based on a working week of 37 hours)

Samuel Frank is recruiting for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a successful, bespoke, special purpose machine manufacturer based in East Lancashire.

Key aspects of the Mechanical Design Engineer role include;

  • Competent in technical aspects of mechanical design and development of special purpose machinery
  • Work under your own initiative producing detailed design drawings
  • Knowledge of specialist fabrications, food preparation machinery or clean environment pharmaceutical machinery is preferred
  • Successful Mechanical Design Engineer will need experience of working within a drawing office environment – essential.
  • Experience of using AutoCAD and 3D to create the designs – essential.
  • Have a working knowledge of regulations and codes of practices such as EN standards, CE marking etc.
  • Provide a high level of commercial awareness to ensure design solutions are delivered in a cost-effective manner & design changes are managed in accordance with standard operation procedures
  • Working hours 8.30-5pm Monday – Thursday and 8.30-2pm on Fridays.
  • Single-time overtime paid on all hours worked over 37 per week, regular overtime hours available

The client’s premises are commutable from the following places – Manchester, Oldham, Rochdale, Denton, Bolton, Bury, Blackburn and Burnley.
