Job Description:

Mechanical Design Engineer required. My client is a leading supplier of combustion and casting equipment globally. They are looking to bring onboard an experienced Design Engineer to provide design calculations, CFD / FEA, and design drawings. The ideal candidate will come from a Mechanical Design background, have experience with casting / combustion equipment, and will be based locally to Kingswinford.

Mechanical Design Engineer Position Overview:

• Production of detailed design drawings and calculations
• Producing design deliverables including, but not limited to, P&IDs, hydraulic calculations, combustion calculations, pneumatic calculations, structural design calculations, Mechanical GAs, and layouts
• Completing designs using Autodesk Inventor/AutoCAD
• Design calculations using Excel
• Use of CFD/FEA to develop and validate design work
• Selection of suitable components to allow accurate estimating
• Working collaboratively with other design departments
• Maintaining design input throughout the project lifecycle—from feasibility to outline and detailed design, through to construction and handover
• Ensuring compliance with design specifications and standards

Mechanical Design Engineer Position Requirements:

• 10 years previous experience in a design-focused role
• Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering
• Experience designing capital equipment
• Previous experience with AutoCAD & Autodesk Inventor
• Experience designing combustion equipment would be advantageous
• Based within a commutable distance of Kingswinford
• Full driving license

Mechanical Design Engineer Position Remuneration:

• 8:00 - 16:30 Monday - Thursday, 8:00 - 13:00 Friday
• 28 days holiday
• Private medical cover
