JOB- Mechanical Design Engineer

LOCATION- Hull

TERM- Permanent

SALARY- £35,000 per annum

Premier Engineering is working with a leading engineering company based in Hull, who are looking to recruit a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their growing team. The company designs and manufactures bespoke mechanical systems and equipment for a range of sectors.

The Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:

• A degree or HND/HNC in Mechanical Engineering or similar
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Inventor, or AutoCAD
• Experience in the design of mechanical components or assemblies
• Good knowledge of manufacturing techniques including sheet metal, fabrication, and machining
• Ability to create accurate technical drawings and BOMs
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• A proactive approach and willingness to contribute to continuous improvement

The Mechanical Design Engineer role will involve:

• Creating 3D CAD models and 2D drawings for bespoke products
• Designing systems from initial concept through to production
• Liaising with internal teams including manufacturing and project management
• Producing and maintaining documentation including BOMs and technical files
• Assisting with prototype development and testing where required
• Ensuring all designs comply with relevant standards and specifications
