JOB - Mechanical Design Engineer
LOCATION - Harlow
TERM - Permanent
SALARY - £30,000 to £40,000 per annum (plus benefits)

My client is a specialist manufacturer working within the plastics industry, focusing on thermoforming and plastic product design. They are looking to take on a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team in Harlow.

The Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:

  • Experience in mechanical design, ideally within plastics, thermoforming, or injection moulding
  • Strong proficiency with 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar)
  • Understanding of plastic product design, manufacturing methods, and material properties
  • Ability to produce accurate 3D models, 2D drawings, and BOMs
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
  • Relevant engineering qualification (HNC, HND, BEng, MEng, or similar)
Responsibilities
  • Designing plastic components and assemblies for thermoformed products
  • Producing detailed CAD models, technical drawings, and specifications
  • Collaborating with the production and tooling teams to ensure manufacturability
