Role: Mechanical Design and Development Engineer

Salary: GBP 35,000: GBP 42,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

Type: Permanent

Location: Surrey

My client works within design and NPI and they are looking to take on a Mechanical Design and Development Engineer, on a permanent basis, in the Surrey area.

The Mechanical Design and Development Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:

: BSc or BEng qualification in Mechanical Engineering ideally

: 2 or more years' industry experience ideally working in a similar design / development role within a manufacturing environment

: Be very proficient with using ideally SolidWorks software for design

: PDM experience would also be advantageous but not essential

: Comprehensive knowledge of mechanical design and engineering principles

: Have knowledge of different materials such as sheet metal fabrication, castings and injection moulded plastics

: Be able to work well individually as well as part of a team

: Have good communication skills both verbal and written

: Lean Six Sigma knowledge/ skills would also be beneficial but can be taught

The Mechanical Design And Development Engineer Role Will Involve

: Assisting in the design and development process and projects

: Designing products and systems using SolidWorks on a daily basis

: Communicating with supplier and customers directly and also travelling to their sites if required

: Responding to customer requests for product related ideas or changes

: Being involved in managing the change control process

: Prototyping and also testing concepts for further development

: Working in a varied role with exposure to different responsibilities when required
