The Role As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will have an exciting opportunity to make a tangible difference to the UK’s Defence and Security interests. You will be part of a large design community, working across multiple domains and a diverse set of projects, alongside our colleagues, you will have the opportunity to research, innovate, integrate, assure and deploy our products and services. It’s not unusual to find people at QinetiQ who have worked on everything from Submarines operating in the depths of our Oceans, to Spacecraft destined heading into outer Space.
Day-to-day, as a member of the Farnborough Design team, you will work both independently, and collaboratively with other designers, depending on the size and complexity of the project, this could be on-site or remotely across our UK and Global sites. You’ll be supported by a Design Team Lead, who will provide direction, and ensure we have a consistent approach to the design, delivery as well as necessary skills and behaviours.

This role is 37 hours per week based at our Farnborough site. Travel to other QinetiQ and customer sites is expected.
