Job summary

A leading engineering recruitment agency is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer for an office-based role in Exeter. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, proficiency in CAD tools, and experience in manufacturing environments. This position offers a salary between £35,000-£37,000 along with holiday, pension, and additional company benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing environment, sheet metal experience would be advantageous.
• Mechanical Design Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer/ Production Engineer / Development Engineer or similar backgrounds all considered.

Responsibilities

• Designing and developing new and existing products from concept to completion.
• Working closely with the Engineering Manager to aid in development testing.
• Resolving process issues and identifying areas for improvement.

Skills

Understanding of mechanical engineering

Proficient with CAD packages (e.g. Solidworks, SolidEdge)

Experience in manufacturing improvements

Mechanical Design Engineer

Office Based, Exeter - commutable from Sidmouth, Exmouth, Torquay, Tiverton and surrounding areas.

£35,000-£37,000 + Office Based, Monday to Friday + Holiday + Pension + Company Benefits + Early Finish on Fridays

The role will see the candidate designing and developing new and existing products, from concept through to completion. Working in the engineering department you will be working closely with the Engineering Manager to aid with the development testing of the company's creations.

The ideal candidate will an understanding of mechanical engineering, proficient working with CAD packages (e.g. Solidworks or SolidEdge) and have experience implementing improvements within manufacturing.
