Mechanical Design Engineer

Location: Exeter, Devon

Due to ongoing success and the winning of new contracts, our client is looking to expand their skilled design team with a Mechanical Design Engineer.

We seek an ambitious Mechanical Design Engineer who is driven and highly motivated, seeking to build a successful and rewarding future in a truly unique environment. The role involves working on a variety of projects, ranging in scale and value, ensuring the work remains engaging and diverse.

The Role:

• Design projects for customers from inception to completion.
• Manage Bill of Materials (BOM).
• Take responsibility for all mechanical aspects of projects and provide technical guidance to customers.
• Attend specification meetings with global customers.
• Be mindful of cost targets during design, purchasing, and assembly processes.
• Participate in project meetings and update Project Managers on engineering progress.

The Person:

• Experience with SolidWorks or similar CAD software.
• Ability to design for manufacture and assembly.
• Proficiency in reading and producing 2D production drawings, applying GD&T where necessary.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Preferably hold an Engineering Degree, with a minimum of HNC qualification.
