Job summary

A recruitment agency is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to create mechanical designs in SolidWorks and AutoCAD. The ideal candidate will have a mechanical engineering qualification, over 5 years of experience in machinery design, and the ability to fault find. This position offers a salary range of £44,000 - £55,000 depending on experience and is based in Bedfordshire.

Qualifications

• Ability to fault find machines and implement reliable solutions.

Overview

Mechanical Design Engineer - Bedfordshire. Pertemps is currently recruiting for a Mechanical Design Engineer for our client based in Bedfordshire.

Hours: Mon-Thurs 8am-5pm & Fri 8am-1pm

Salary: £44,000 - £55,000 (DOE)

Responsibilities

• Creation of Mechanical designs in SolidWorks
• Creation of Sales layout drawings in either SolidWorks or AutoCAD
• Mechanical design of machinery in line with customer requirements and/or user specifications
• Creation of Mechanical bills of material
• Creation of 2D detail drawings, assembly, part, fabrication etc.
• Creation of pneumatic schematics
• Liaising with the other design teams to ensure accurate and optimal mechanical designs
• Identify potential product improvements and support implementation
• Construction of machine manuals and technical documentation
• Provide technical support to the shop floor teams during machine construction

Requirements

• A recognised qualification in Mechanical Engineering i.e., BTEC, HNC etc
• Mechanical engineering background
• 5+ years' experience in mechanical design of machinery
• Experience of using a 3D mechanical design package. Ideally Solidworks
• Ability to fault find machines and implement reliable solutions
