Mechanical Design Engineer

ROLE: Mechanical Design Engineer

LOCATION: Berkshire

TERM: Permanent

SALARY: £25,000 - £40,000, dependent on experience

My client designs and manufactures commercial and industrial products. They are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team in Berkshire on a permanent basis.

Requirements:

1. 0-5 years’ experience in a similar Design Engineering / CAD Operation position (Graduates will be considered)
2. Experience with precision components or mechanism design would be beneficial
3. Be proficient using 3D CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor etc.
4. Degree / HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar
5. Previous experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment
6. Good theoretical mechanical engineering knowledge of core principles and tight tolerances
7. Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
8. Proficient using MS Office
9. Excellent organisational skills and time management skills
10. Have the ability to work well alone as well as part of a small multi-disciplinary team

Responsibilities:

1. Using CAD for concept design and producing technical drawings
2. Liaising with manufacturing providers
3. Being involved in final assembly of products
4. Creating the required documentation for design as well as project reports / plans
5. Updating 3D models and drawings
6. Inputting parts into the MRP system creating BOMs
7. Checking drawings for sign off
8. Working in a small multi-disciplinary team on varied projects
