Mechanical Design Engineer required for an industry leading supplier of manufacturing machinery with a reputation of global excellence. This role would suit an experienced mechanical design engineer with experience designing machinery, however candidates from any industry background are encouraged to apply.
Working within a small team, the Mechanical Design Engineer will support the 3D design of both standard and special purpose machinery using SolidWorks. You will be involved in the design of tooling and coordinate with engineers of other disciplines (electrical, software etc.) to produce design solutions to meet user requirements.
The Mechanical Design Engineer Role:
Design of standard and special purpose machinery, including lead plate feeders and stackers, lead casting machines, robot loading and machining cells etc.
Use SolidWorks to create 3D models and carry out prototyping and verification testing
Strive to reduce costs
Ensure documentation including manuals and schedules are updated
Hands on involvement in testing
