Qualifications

Job Description:

Our Principle Consultant (RT) is looking for a qualified and experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join a growing and successful company that provide automation solutions for materials handling, packing, automated component assembly, inspection and bespoke automation including advanced robotics.

Company Overview

Our client specialises in industrial hardware and software products, design and manufacture factory production and automation systems, and provide electronics manufacturing and test services. They work with existing systems or develop new solutions to help companies improve performance, efficiency, and reliability to add scale and reduce costs. They support customers through the entire prototype to production journey.

Key Duties &Responsibilities

  • Review customer drawings/ideas
  • Turn your ideas and solutions into concept sketches
  • Produce 2D and 3D drawing of final designs using Auto CAD, Solidworks, or similar
  • Generate manufacturing drawings, BOMS and programme files for CNC milling/routing machines
  • Assemble parts to ensure correct functioning of final design
  • Qualified in a relevant subject
  • Minimum of three years experience working as a Mechanical Design Engineer
  • Experience in any of the following areas is desirable: electro-mechanical design and/or pneumatic design
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Solidworks or similar
  • Strong logic reasoning skills
  • Excellent oral and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work under own initiative
  • Ability to take ownership
  • Good time management and organisational skills

The Offer

  • Competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience
  • 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with an early finish on Fridays
