Full Job Description

An exciting job opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a leading aerospace manufacturer based in Egham.

The position of Mechanical Design Engineer will be part of a dynamic and innovative engineering team, working on strategic technical development projects within the aerospace sector. You will be responsible for managing internal technical projects, driving the development of internal expertise, and working closely with both internal stakeholders and external partner organizations. The ideal candidate will have a strong engineering background, leadership skills, and a passion for technical excellence.

Requirements of a Mechanical Design Engineer:

1. A degree in Mechanical Design Engineering or equivalent (BSc/BEng or MSc)
2. Extensive experience with 3D CAD systems, preferably PTC Creo
3. Solid understanding of mechanical/electrical systems, materials, mechanisms, and reliability engineering
4. Proven experience designing electromechanical mechanisms/machines, actuators, and gears
5. Strong knowledge of drawing standards (BS888) and geometric tolerance
6. Experience in designing, testing, qualifying, and certifying aerospace products
7. In-depth understanding of manufacturing processes relevant to aerospace products
8. Familiarity with DO-160 and other aerospace-critical standards
9. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while collaborating in a team environment
10. Strong attention to detail, planning, and organization skills
