A leading company in marine technology is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to enhance their portfolio of marine stabiliser and steering products. The role involves detailed design, calculations, CAD modelling, and supporting sales activities. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Mechanical Engineering and at least 5 years of experience in mechanical design, particularly for marine applications. An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Commercial Marine business for the key role of Mechanical Design Engineer to deliver and expand our portfolio of marine stabiliser and steering products. From luxury yachts and cruise ships to merchant vessels and naval ships, our products are renowned for their in-service quality and reliability.
Reporting to the VP Product, you will undertake detailed design of mechanical systems for marine applications, primarily ship stabiliser and steering systems. This includes all engineering activities from requirements analysis, sales support, specification and design, manufacturing support, testing, to through-life technical support. The work involves developing new designs and supporting existing systems. Occasional travel may be required for installations, sea-trials, fault diagnosis, and customer support.
