Job Description

Mechanical Engineer

Location: Dundee (hybrid)

This challenging position involves working as part of a small team in Dundee and with other facilities and suppliers in the support, design, evaluation and test of ATMs (Auto-Teller Machines for the Banking Industry) and the devices used in ATMs.

A key requirement is to have several years’ mechanical design experience with a keen interest in the design of product packaging & device integration.

Responsibilities:
  • Mechanical Part Design for sheet metal and plastic injection molded parts
  • Design new ATM features
  • Support existing ATMs and devices products from a mechanical perspective
  • Evaluate different technologies and provide recommendations with backup analysis
  • Lead mechanical development activities, providing estimates, manufacturing options etc.
  • Lead a small team of Mechanical Engineers
  • Working with tooling suppliers and parts manufacture
  • Supplier engagement and change management
  • Collaborate with Engineers from different disciplines to enable system wide integration
  • Lead design validation via design reviews, stress analysis, assembly tolerances, testing and problem correction CLCA
  • Release work products using the approved system with all relevant documentation required to implement your design change
Basic Qualifications and Experience:
  • A Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering subject
  • Strong understanding of Mechanical design principles and technologies
  • Experience in a mechanical product development role
  • Technology Expertise in the areas of:
  • Sheet Metal design
  • Design of parts for Injection Moulding
  • Excellent CAD skills (ProE/Creo)
