This challenging position involves working as part of a small team in Dundee and with other facilities and suppliers in the support, design, evaluation and test of ATMs (Auto-Teller Machines for the Banking Industry) and the devices used in ATMs.
A key requirement is to have several years’ mechanical design experience with a keen interest in the design of product packaging & device integration.
Responsibilities:
Mechanical Part Design for sheet metal and plastic injection molded parts
Design new ATM features
Support existing ATMs and devices products from a mechanical perspective
Evaluate different technologies and provide recommendations with backup analysis
Lead mechanical development activities, providing estimates, manufacturing options etc.
Lead a small team of Mechanical Engineers
Working with tooling suppliers and parts manufacture
Supplier engagement and change management
Collaborate with Engineers from different disciplines to enable system wide integration
Lead design validation via design reviews, stress analysis, assembly tolerances, testing and problem correction CLCA
Release work products using the approved system with all relevant documentation required to implement your design change
Basic Qualifications and Experience:
A Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering subject
Strong understanding of Mechanical design principles and technologies
Experience in a mechanical product development role
Technology Expertise in the areas of:
Sheet Metal design
Design of parts for Injection Moulding
Excellent CAD skills (ProE/Creo)
