Job summary

Chem Resist, part of the RSE Group, is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join the Dewsbury team. You will work with the Design Team to create design solutions and manage customer interactions and relationships.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established business in a specialist engineering area, delivering solutions across multiple industries while coordinating with in-house fabrication to ensure designs are correctly realized.

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing/plastic manufacturing environment with DFMA understanding.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Accurate work with strong attention to detail.
• Good collaborative skills across teams.
• Ability to communicate with all levels of staff and hold a Full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with internal Sales to understand customer requirements, specs and project expectations.
• Obtain and review BOMs, drawings, and technical information.
• Complete relevant engineering designs, calculations, and technical documentation.
• Work with in-house fabrication and manufacturing teams to ensure products are manufactured to approved designs and specs.

What Are We Looking For?

As part of RSE’s Chemical Dosing Business, Chem Resist has an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Design Engineer to be based at our office in Dewsbury. You would be working with the existing Design Team, creating design solutions and managing customer interactions and relationships.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established business in a specialist area of Engineering, working in a wide range of industries.

Some Of Your Key Duties Include

• Liaise with the internal Sales team to understand customer requirements, specifications, and project expectations.
• Obtain and review relevant Bills of Materials (BOMs), drawings, and technical information.
• Complete all relevant engineering designs, calculations, and technical documentation.
• Work closely with the in-house fabrication and manufacturing teams to ensure products are manufactured in accordance with approved designs and specifications.
• Act as a technical focal point for customer enquiries.

What Do You Need?

• Experience of working in a manufacturing/plastic manufacturing environment and an understanding of Design for Manufacturing & Assembly (DFMA).
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Accurate work with excellent attention to detail.
• Good collaborative skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff (face to face, telephone and by remote video communications) to obtain technical information.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
