Design Engineer South Down

We are working with a well-established, forward-thinking engineering firm that specializes in heavy machinery manufacturing. We are looking to speak with experienced Design Engineers who are passionate about product development and enjoy being hands-on, from concept through to manufacturing.

The Role: This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing engineering team where your ideas and input will be genuinely valued. You will be involved in designing both new products and improvements to existing systems, ensuring solutions are practical, manufacturable, and fully compliant with industry standards.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Designing and developing new equipment and enhancing the current product range
• Producing 2D drawings and 3D CAD models (SolidWorks)
• Working closely with the production team to ensure a seamless design-to-build transition
• Conducting root cause analysis and implementing effective engineering solutions
• Involvement in prototyping, testing, and contributing to design reviews
• Supporting documentation for CE/UKCA compliance
• Maintaining detailed records of design changes and technical specifications
• Ensuring all design work adheres to Health & Safety standards

What We're Looking For:

• Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline)
• Proficient with SolidWorks or similar CAD software
• Strong grasp of mechanical systems, materials, and manufacturing processes
• Problem-solving mindset with a keen eye for detail
• Comfortable working as part of a collaborative team
• Competent with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
