We are actively seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to contribute to the design and development of new products in the industrial / manufacturing industry. The role is based in Coatbridge and requires a hands-on approach to problem-solving, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Description

1. Designing, testing and refining industrial manufacturing products.
2. Utilising computer-aided design tools (Soliwork and AutoCAD) to create technical blueprints and diagrams.
3. Collaborating with the wider engineering team to optimise product performance.
4. Conducting research to stay abreast of the latest industry trends.
5. Ensuring designs meet legislative and safety requirements.
6. Assisting in product troubleshooting and rectification.
7. Developing prototypes for testing and evaluation.
8. Providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.

Profile

A successful Senior Mechanical Design Engineer should have:

1. A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a similar field.
2. Soliwork and AutoCAD technical ability.
3. A strong understanding of mechanical systems and design principles.
4. Proficiency in computer-aided design software.
5. Knowledge of relevant safety and legislative standards.
6. Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
7. Strong communication and teamwork skills.
8. The ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
9. Experience mentoring team members.
