JOB - Mechanical Design Engineer

Location: Chester

Term: Permanent

Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

My client designs and manufactures high-tech products for a global client base. They are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team in Chester on a permanent basis.

Responsibilities

• Working in a small multi-disciplinary team on varied projects
• Using SolidWorks, Inventor CAD for concept design and producing technical drawings
• Developing new avenues for continuous development and process management
• Liaising with manufacturing providers
• Being involved in final assembly of products
• Creating the required documentation for design as well as project reports / plans

Qualifications

• BSc / BEng / MSc / MEng / HND or similar in Mechanical Engineering
• Proficient using 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Creo, Inventor etc.
• 4 or more years of experience in a similar Mechanical Design Engineering position
• Experience with identifying new routes for continuous improvement
• Experience developing ways to manage and better processes within the company
• Good knowledge of different metal materials, manufacturing techniques and machining processes
• Methodical approach to work
• Strong theoretical mechanical engineering knowledge of core principles and tight tolerances
• Ability to work well alone as well as part of a small multi-disciplinary team
• Excellent communication skills; both verbal and written
