Job description

We’re looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer with an innate feel for precision mechatronic devices to play a crucial role in advancing our mission.

You’ll be responsible for creating robust, manufacturable detailed designs for our robotic manufacturing system. As a mechanical designer, you'll have autonomy and responsibility to design critical modules, leveraging your expertise to guide us towards stable and reliable solutions.

Qualifications
  • A strong background in Mechanical Engineering Design, gained through a degree or vocational route.
  • Proven experience developing and delivering products into manufacture.
  • Ability to conduct detailed tolerance analyses and utilize analytical techniques to support your design work.
  • Highly skilled and efficient in 3D CAD software, ideally SolidWorks.
  • Hands-on experience with complex precision devices at the 10’s-microns to 10’s-mm scale.
  • Deep knowledge of material and manufacturing method selection, with the ability to develop technical documentation to BS8888 standards, including GD&T.
  • Experience with design tools such as FMEA and strong analytical skills to identify and mitigate technical risks early.
  • Relevant industry experience in medical devices, consumer products, automotive, aerospace, or digital printing.
  • This is a full-time, on-site position at our campus in Melbourn.
