About the job you're considering

Capgemini Engineering is seeking Design Engineers with expertise in non-conformance within aerospace/marine engineering backgrounds.

Hybrid working: Your daily work locations will vary based on your role, needs, and business requirements, including Company offices, client sites, and your home. Note that 100% remote work is not available.

Successful candidates will undergo pre-employment checks, including identity verification, nationality or immigration status, employment history for the past 3 years, and a criminal record check (Disclosure and Barring Service).

Your Role

As a Non-conformance Design Engineer in the Capgemini Engineering Design department, your responsibilities will include:

  1. Assessing non-conformance reports via Concession/Deviation Permits/Drawing Alteration Requests (DAR)
  2. Issuing reports to support disposition decisions
  3. Writing Technical Assessment Reports (TARs)
  4. Assessing engineering drawings
  5. Performing tolerancing calculations and bolt checks
  6. Liaising with non-conformance specialists
  7. Following procedures and specifications
  8. Applying Design for Manufacture (DfM) best practices

Your skills and experience

Required qualifications include:

  • Experience designing aero/marine-engine systems and components (e.g., compressors, turbines, combustors, bearings, seals, casings, fittings)
  • Knowledge of aerospace/marine manufacturing processes (desirable)
  • Experience with manufacturing, producibility, concessions, NCE, SAR, DAR, TAD, AR, PDG processes (desirable)
  • Ability to work efficiently and accurately to meet client needs
  • Experience liaising with stress and materials specialists
  • Effective team player capable of working under tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
  • Proactive attitude with strong reporting skills

Your Security Experience

Applicants must pass Baseline Personnel Security Standard checks. There are no nationality or residency restrictions, but recent residence outside the UK may require additional checks. Throughout the process, questions about security clearance eligibility will be asked.
