Job description

Mechanical Design Engineer / Design Engineer / Project Engineer required to join a world–leading HVAC Solutions provider.

The Mechanical Design Engineer / Design Engineer / Project Engineer will be responsible for the full design scope taking works from tender review, equipment selection to final sign–off of HVAC products including mechanical ventilation, fire and smoke dampers, control panels and smoke extract fans for residential and commercial projects.

The preferred Mechanical Design Engineer / Design Engineer / Project Engineer should possess smoke control industry design knowledge. Those coming from an M&E Building Services design focused background will be considered.

Mechanical Design Engineer / Design Engineer / Project Engineer role:

• Delivering full project design scope of HVAC products including mechanical ventilation, fire and smoke dampers, control panels and smoke extract fans for residential and commercial projects
• Supporting projects team to ensure timely and effective design input for a multitude of ongoing works
• Undertaking selection process of fans, smoke ventilation and more
• Working closely with in–house departments to develop overall design understanding
• Able to travel to the office in Birmingham

Mechanical Design Engineer / Design Engineer / Project Engineer requirements:

• Experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer, Design Engineer, Project Engineer, Technical Engineer from the smoke control industry or background in M&E Building Services design.
• Strong understanding of M&E systems and design principles
• Ability to liaise with M&E Contractors, M&E Contractors and clients
• Technical expertise of schematics, fan selection and regulatory compliance
• Able to travel to the office near Birmingham
