The Role

The principal role is to provide design proposals, professional expertise, and support, working in direct collaboration with the project design teams to implement project requirements and act as lead designer where applicable, as specified in the company project quality plans (PQP). Skills in IES/Revit are essential.

Project Responsibilities

Lead projects from inception through to construction and handover, including preparing drawings, BIM models, specifications, tender and construction information, monitoring works, and liaising with clients, contractors, sub-contractors, and suppliers.

Work as an integral member of a project team, carrying out duties such as:

• Defining, recording, and maintaining project brief information from clients and relevant parties.
• Preparing feasibility studies, building services strategy documents, fee proposals, and briefing documents.
• Preparing tender information, including service layouts, schematics, specifications, and BIM models where practical.
• Developing detailed designs and construction details, with associated specifications and calculations.
• Communicating proposed solutions clearly to all team members and clients.
• Attending meetings, preparing and checking minutes.
• Acting as the point of contact for your discipline.
• Coordinating work stage programs and design of construction elements.
• Ensuring design outputs meet PQP requirements.
• Participating in the Consultant Appointment process to identify necessary fees.
• Monitoring and reporting on discipline progress and resource utilization within budget.
