Overview

Blueprint Recruitment are currently seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a leading engineering consultancy, on a 6-month contract basis. The successful candidate will work on a hybrid basis from our client's office in Basingstoke, 2-3 days a week. This role offers the opportunity to work on a complex healthcare project with a team of engineers and professionals.

Compensation: Competitive day rate of £400 (depending on experience).

Responsibilities
  • Design and technical review, problem-solving, and overseeing responsibilities like design management, with opportunities for hands-on design work.
  • Produce accurate mechanical designs, specifications, and calculations for building systems.
  • Collaborate with clients and other professionals throughout the lifespan of the projects.
  • Attend site visits to inspect and examine the project\'s progress and ensure the design is being implemented properly.
  • Ensure that all designs comply with the project specifications and requirements.
  • Assist with the planning process of the project as well as carrying out risk assessments, and technical approvals.
Requirements
  • Bachelor\'s degree in mechanical or building services engineering, or a related field, and working towards, or at, a chartered status.
  • Extensive experience as a mechanical design engineer, with a focus on healthcare projects.
  • Solid understanding of HVAC systems, building regulations and policies, and mechanical systems.
  • Strong proficiency in the use of design software such as Revit, AutoCAD, and mechanical calculation software.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
