Job Description: Mechanical Design Engineer

Based in South Essex, you will join a purpose-built design and engineering premises for chemical manufacturing, serving a wide range of industries. Due to ongoing growth and expansion, they are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to become part of their team.

The primary responsibility of the Mechanical Design Engineer will be to produce mechanical designs and drawings for mechanical systems and equipment. You will work closely within a team of mechanical design engineers, under the supervision of the drawing office manager.

All mechanical design work is performed on-site, including layout design, enclosure design, general mechanical design, and more. The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for drafting designs based on customer specifications and collaborating with relevant teams during the manufacturing process.

Skills and Experience Required:

• Experience working in an industrial or design environment using Autodesk products such as AutoCAD (2D) and Inventor (3D). Other 3D CAD software like SolidWorks may also be considered.
• Completed a relevant engineering qualification.
• Good understanding of engineering techniques, including machinery and sheet metal work.
• Ability to read, produce, and work with assembly drawings.
