ARM International is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a market-leading defence and aerospace environment. The role focuses on developing tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing processes, with strong emphasis on DFMA, PFMEA, and GD&T using CREO for technical drawings.

• Extensive knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma in production environments.
• Experience with GD&T and geometric-tolerance analysis.
• Proficient in CAD, preferably CREO, for generating technical drawings.
• Ability to create Technical Requirement Specifications and manufacturing data packs.
• Understanding of DFMA, PFMEA and process optimization.

Responsabilidades

• Develop tooling and fixtures for assembly, machining and test.
• Design new tooling and fixturing requirements.
• Prepare Manufacturing BOMs and routings to aid ease of manufacture.
• Collaborate with Industrial Engineering, Production Engineering and other functions.

As the Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be working alongside a market-leading Defence and Aerospace company who are constantly growing and developing. You will be involved in:

• Develop manufacturing tooling within any of the following technologies;
• Assembly, Integration, and Test
• Machining
• Additive Manufacturing
• Designing any new tooling & fixturing requirements
• Experienced in the creation of Technical Requirement Specifications
• Creation of detailed process instructions
• Creation of Manufacturing BOM’s / routings to aid ease of manufacture
• Active participation in customer and programme meetings
• Assist with the Technical requirements of the relevant section of the Capital plan from definition to acceptance
• Supporting full-rate production of a range of products
• Close liaison of activities with Industrial Engineering, Production Engineering, and other functions
• Support with the business process reviews and generation/update of relevant documentation
• Knowledge of Manufacturing technologies
• Demonstrate a level of design and manufacturing process industry experience
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma methodology, Quality toolset experience
• An understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerances) with the ability to identify key characteristics and datum structures
• Familiar with the use of CAD software (CREO) to generate technical drawings
• Experience preparing operational documentation and manufacturing data packs
• Awareness of DFM/A and PFMEA principles and the use of them in a practical application to support Industrial Engineering activity
