Searchability NS&D, on behalf of a defence engineering organisation, seeks an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to support Infantry Fighting Vehicles.
You will own mechanical designs from concept to detailed design using CREO and Windchill, contribute to design reviews, and ensure designs meet rigorous military requirements.
This role is a 6-month initial contract with a 37.5-hour week, hybrid work with mandatory on-site Monday and Tuesday in Ampthill.

Due to continued investment in vehicle capability development, they are looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join the team supporting the ongoing design and development of Infantry Fighting Vehicles (IFVs).
This is an exciting opportunity to work on complex defence programmes, contributing to the full product lifecycle from concept design through to development and engineering delivery.
As the Mechanical Design Engineer, you'll play a key role in the design and development of mechanical systems and complex mechanisms for advanced Infantry Fighting Vehicles.
Working as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team, you'll take ownership of mechanical designs from concept through to detailed design, using CREO and Windchill to develop robust engineering solutions capable of operating in demanding military environments.
You'll contribute to design reviews, perform engineering calculations, select appropriate materials and manufacturing processes, and support the continued development of cutting-edge defence technology.
