Mechanical Crane Engineer

Location: Shotton (CH5)

Salary: £33,477 starting, progressing up to £36,651 per annum + Bonus (day shift)

Are you adept at maintaining overhead cranes to peak operational standards? Do you have innovative ideas to advance the field of crane mechanics? Your role will involve working with machinery that is integral to industries such as home appliances, construction, and more.

What you will do:
  • Oversee the mechanical upkeep, overhaul, and repair of crane equipment, ensuring high-level bay maintenance.
  • Perform general production line maintenance during downtime.
Responsibilities:
  • Uphold Health, Safety, and Environmental standards in compliance with IMS procedures and PPE guidelines.
  • Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on Overhead Travelling Cranes.
  • Perform high-quality mechanical repairs based on schematics within set timelines.
  • Contribute to the design and production of spare parts for cranes.
  • Engage in refurbishment of current machinery.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives to enhance safety and cleanliness within the Crane Maintenance Team.
  • Perform additional duties in workshops, auxiliary plants, and during downshifts as needed.
  • Conduct Zone Safety audits and Risk assessments as per Safety Sub Plan.
What you will need:
  • Significant experience as a fitter, preferably in the steel or construction industry.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering (advantageous).
