Mechanical Craftsman – Ketton

Salary: £42,000 – £51,000 | Location: Ketton | Hours: Full-time, 3-shift rotation

What’s on Offer

Join a high-performing team in a critical hands-on role, maintaining and improving mechanical systems in a heavy industrial environment. The primary objective is to improve equipment reliability by carrying out preventive and corrective maintenance on the plant, in line with the Heidelberg Maintenance Improvement Plan. Support the maintenance Team Leader and be a central part of the maintenance team by performing mechanical inspections and carrying out planned and corrective maintenance as directed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical fitting and maintenance on equipment such as compressed air systems, process lines, vessels, conveyors, pumps, valves, filters, milling systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, bearings, gearboxes.
  • Carry out welding, burning, and fabrication tasks.
  • Use pulling/lifting gear and workshop machinery (lathes, milling machines, drill press).
  • Diagnose mechanical faults and take corrective action.
  • Ensure all work complies with health, safety, and environmental standards.
