Mane are seeking an experienced and commercially astute Mechanical Contracts Manager to join our client's expanding delivery team. The successful candidate will take full responsibility for the management, coordination, and execution of mechanical packages across a range of high-specification Commercial, Industrial, and Banking fit-out projects. This is a key role requiring strong leadership, technical knowledge, and commercial awareness to ensure successful project delivery from pre-construction through to final handover.



Key Responsibilities:


  • Manage the delivery of mechanical services from tender stage through construction to commissioning and client handover.

  • Coordinate closely with project managers, clients, consultants, and subcontractors to ensure smooth execution of project objectives.

  • Lead subcontractor selection, procurement, and management, ensuring adherence to contractual obligations, programme, and budget.

  • Monitor and control project costs, change management, and reporting in collaboration with commercial teams.

  • Ensure technical compliance of mechanical installations with project specifications, industry standards, and statutory regulations.

  • Attend client meetings, progress reviews, and coordination workshops.

  • Ensure timely production of RAMS, commissioning plans, O&M manuals, and as-built documentation.

  • Maintain a focus on health & safety, quality, and environmental compliance throughout project delivery.

  • Drive continuous improvement, value engineering, and programme efficiencies where possible.

  • Contribute to project planning and resourcing to meet key delivery milestones.


Requirements:


  • Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services (or time-served with strong project delivery track record).

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a Contracts Manager or Project Manager role with a mechanical contractor or building services firm.

  • Proven experience delivering mechanical packages on Commercial, Industrial, or high-end fit-out projects.

  • Strong working knowledge of HVAC systems, public health services, BMS, and mechanical compliance requirements.

  • Familiarity with relevant UK building regulations, CIBSE guides, and health & safety legislation.

  • Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and teams in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management tools; knowledge of Navisworks or design review software beneficial.


Desirable:


  • SMSTS or equivalent safety qualification.

  • CSCS Managerial Card.

  • Experience with BIM coordination and digital project delivery tools.

  • Awareness of sustainability and energy efficiency standards (e.g., BREEAM, LEED).
