Job Title: Mechanical Contract Manager

Location: Northampton, Northamptonshire

Salary: £65,000 - £70,000

An M&E Contractor is looking for a Mechanical Contract Manager to join their expanding management team in Northampton, covering Bedfordshire, Leicestershire, Buckinghamshire, and Oxfordshire. The company provides M&E services to clients across sectors including Commercial, Education, Healthcare, Defence, and MOJ. Projects are typically valued up to £10M.

As part of the management team, you will be responsible for leading and overseeing projects from pre-construction to completion, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to high standards.

Responsibilities:

1. Oversee and lead the preparation and execution of the mechanical elements of large-scale commercial projects running simultaneously.
2. Coordinate with project management teams, sub-contractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth project execution.
3. Provide leadership to Mechanical Project Managers and Mechanical Engineers.
4. Monitor project progress and performance, addressing issues promptly.
5. Identify and mitigate project risks, implementing effective solutions.
6. Manage budgets, schedules, and resources efficiently.
7. Maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, sub-contractors, and internal teams to manage progress, challenges, and resolutions.

Requirements:

• Previous leadership experience managing Mechanical Project Managers.
• Proven success in managing complex mechanical projects valued at £10M+.
• Comprehensive knowledge of mechanical systems, construction practices, and industry standards.
• Effective planning, scheduling, and resource management skills.
• Strong understanding of budgeting, cost control, and financial analysis.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management software.
