Mechanical Construction Manager - Helsinki

Up to €100,000 DOE + €13,000 Tax Free Subsistence + Flights, Accom, Bills Paid

First Task Professional are presently seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Engineer / Construction Manager to join the business to deliver a 50MW data centre just outside of Helsinki.

The city boasts one of the highest quality of life indices in the world and is a metropolitan hub with significant investment for data centres.

The project is undergoing a rock excavation at present and will run until early 2028 with high likelihood of follow-on projects in the region.

Responsibilities
  • Manage client communications
  • Prepare method statements, risk assessments, and HVAC deliverables to project/safety standards
  • Coordinate with project team on pipework installation sequencing to meet deadlines
  • Oversee commercial aspects from handover to procurement of equipment, subcontractors, and suppliers
  • Support documentation, costing of scope changes, monthly valuations, and final accounts
  • Manage two-week look-ahead project schedule with team
  • Ensure labour requirements align with project program
  • Enforce compliance and governance, including:
    • Health & Safety monitoring of subcontractors
    • Continuous improvement of safe working practices
    • Maintaining high housekeeping standards
Requirements
  • Mechanical qualification (e.g. B.Eng, City & Guilds, HNC/BTEC, NVQ)
  • Experience in mechanical/electrical contracting preferred
  • Data centre experience advantageous
  • Strong organisational, communication, and time management skills
