At Cavendish Nuclear, we’re working to create a safe and secure world. Join us as a Construction Engineer - Mechanical at the Hinkley Point C nuclear project in Bridgwater, Somerset.

This is a great opportunity to work with the MEH Alliance on the prestigious Hinkley Point C Nuclear project. The alliance coordinates the delivery of main MEH, cabling, and support services, enabling different contractors to work as a single entity to install cabling and pipework in the power station’s rooms.

The role

As a Construction Engineer - Mechanical, you’ll lead and manage the team, support best practices, and ensure compliance with nuclear safety standards. You will deliver Mechanical & Piping Construction Workpacks and promote a strong HSE culture throughout the project lifecycle.

• Use the Procon system for construction works and progress reporting.
• Manage work authorization and permit systems.
• Coordinate safe access routing to workfaces.
• Conduct topographical and other surveys.
• Prioritize and own documentation to support construction as per the project plan.
• Ensure documents are compliant with latest information and documentation.

This is a full-time role based in Bridgwater, Somerset, working 37 hours per week.

Essential experience

• Experience in major construction projects, especially in regulated sectors, with knowledge of Safe Systems of Work.
• Experience at Engineer or Senior Engineer level, including within Joint Ventures.

Qualifications

• HNC/ONC or equivalent vocational training, with experience in installing Mechanical and Piping systems.

The candidate must be able to obtain BPSS security clearance.
