Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead mechanical commissioning strategy and delivery across hyperscale data centre projects, from early design through to handover and operational readiness.
• Review mechanical design intent, specifications and drawings for commissioning, operation and long-term performance.
• Oversee testing, validation, and handover activities including FAT, SAT and IST, managing defects and client acceptance.
• Coordinate commissioning programmes across contractors, consultants, vendors and internal teams in line with governance and milestones.
• Ensure commissioning activities comply with standards, legislation and project requirements, maintaining quality, safety and system performance.

Mechanical Commissioning Manager - Data Centre - London

Our client is a leading developer and operator of hyperscale data centre infrastructure, delivering large-scale digital campuses across Europe and other strategically constrained markets. As a business operating at the intersection of engineering, real estate and critical digital infrastructure, they are responsible for delivering highly resilient environments that underpin global cloud and AI capacity growth.

We are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Commissioning Manager to join their engineering and delivery function. The role will be based in London with hybrid working and rotational site travel, supporting commissioning activities from early design through to construction, handover and operational readiness.

Responsibilities

• Commissioning Strategy and Delivery
• Lead mechanical commissioning strategy and delivery across hyperscale data centre projects, from early design through to handover and operational readiness.
• Design Review and Technical Suitability
• Review mechanical design intent, specifications and drawings to ensure systems are suitable for commissioning, operation and long-term performance.
• Testing, Validation and Handover
• Oversee integrated commissioning activities including FAT, SAT and IST, ensuring effective testing, defect management and successful client acceptance.
• Programme and Stakeholder Coordination
• Coordinate commissioning programmes across contractors, consultants, vendors and internal teams, ensuring alignment with project governance, standards and key milestones.
• Technical Assurance and Compliance
• Ensure all commissioning activities comply with relevant standards, legislation and project requirements, maintaining quality, safety and system performance throughout delivery.

Requirements

• Must have relevant Mechanical Engineering or similar degree level qualifications
• Must have 8+ years' experience in a similar role on large scale construction projects including Data Centres
• Must be based within a commutable distance of London
• Must have UK Passport or Right to Work in the UK
